環迴及後置喇叭線長度

一般HiFi 2聲道前置主喇叭，喇叭線長度最好每邊一樣長，而且最好約8呎左右。

但環迴及後置喇叭線長度，又有無準則呢？

現量度喇叭線最短長度約為:

左環迴 = 29呎

右環迴 = 30呎

左後置 = 40.5呎

右後置 = 36呎

由於左右環迴相差不大，故會用同樣長度 = 30呎

但左後置及右後置，相差有4.5呎，應否也用同樣長度 = 40.5呎

或是用最短也o.k. (40.5呎 及 36呎) ?

請給意見，明天要開線及拉線，唔該晒。

a US website saying that if the difference is less than +/- 50 ft, human ear can't tell the difference.
all my speaker cables are different length, e.g., 8ft, 12ft, 18ft for fronts and center. I am sure at least 20 people came to my place, and no one notice anything if I didn't tell them before hand.

Eddie, good points. Will surely go for equal lengths for ease of mind rather than actual technical necessity. In fact it is not due to cost issue but I need to blend or allocate the extra length at appropriate space.

I believe for +/- 50ft may be significant as it will depend on the quality of the speaker cable and the capability of your power amp. If they use "chicken" very small cable and poor amp, it will surely affect as the resistance and the sound quality difference will be much greater to audio level! Why HiFi fans need to use same length for their front speakers ?



beanbean: you are using a great Sound For Heaven cables which is very good quality and with a good performance high power Parasound A52. I agree the cable length difference in your system cannot be easily identified by human ears.
