Peter So hing, you have commented as follow: --->
"通常買HM-DHX2, 有色差同 hdmi 出 HD signal, 可以播日本 BShi / wowow ...台帶, 播美國自?HDTV 都 ok, 可以播二區 HD Theater 帶, 5U 美版, 播唔到 BShi, wowow..帶但可以播 一區 HD Theater 帶"
Questions:
(1) Can Victor HM-DHX2 (Region 2) play Region 1 HD Theater Tape from USA ??
(2) Can JVC HM-DH5U (Region 1) use to record or as a copier to duplicate Japanese Region 2 programme ???
(3) Victor HM-DHX2 digital sound is in MPEG2 AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) while JVC HM-DH5U using Dobly Digital 5.1:

Hence, I need to ask my Japanese friend to find me a MPEG2 AAC decoder in Japan unless I am willing to purchase very expensive AV Amp (Pioneer, Onkyo .....) in HK --> more investment ???
(4) What is the main difference between MPEG2 AAC and Dobly Digital 5.1 (AC3) ??? Why the Japanese do not boardcast software using Dobly Digitial 5.1 or DTS 5.1 to make life easier ???
(5) Any significant difference in sound quality, if I input the sound from HM-DHX2 as PCM via RCA or Optical to my Yamaha DSP-A1 for sound output ???
(6) What is the likely HDTV system to be boardcast in Hong Kong via various stations or channels ??? Will the HM-DHX2 be obsoleted and we need to buy new recorder for HK ???
Please forgive me in asking the above silly and ignorant questions as I am totally new to D-VHS poison zone
