8001 can convert 480i to 480P and convert signal from component/S-video/composite but no upscaling. (same as Onkyo 804)

I use Pioneer 989+4 combination, very satisfied.

Previously think of selling 989 and replace with a cheaper one with 1080P but finally give up, when consider the sound quality.

I'm only using Philips PP2 lcd (720p) and Sanyo Z2 as projector. Therefore 1080p for me now is out of the question.

I have one big problem when using 9000es to watch dvd on the lcd tv. The "time delay" is very bad and I see a lot of "squares" when the objects are moving. I don't have this problem when using the projector or the Victor CRT TV that I was using.

When playing dvhs and blu-ray, the lcd tv also looks perfectly fine.

Only 480p signal that this tv doesn't like.

I don't think there is any scaler. I'm simply feeding 480p signal to the lcd and the tv displays 480p. That's all. And the picture quality is unacceptable.

When I set PS3 to 720p and play blu-ray discs, I cannot get a signal via HDMI. It only works in 1080i.

I still need to sell my Victor 32
